• In this role, the intern has opportunities to learn hands-on how the Marketing Communications Innovation team promotes the Association’s campaigns, research, programs, and cause initiatives to achieve heart health for all. The internship will provide an opportunity to collaborate with teams across the Marketing and Communications department, and throughout the AHA. The intern will provide support to and collaborate with the Marketing Communications Innovation team through various marketing communications strategies and tactics, such as media pitching, handling media inquiries and expert interviews, supporting the organization’s translation and transcreation needs and performing administrative and core marketing duties including basic research and analysis.

• Area Coordinators are responsible for fostering the growth and development of their residents, responding to community concerns, addressing policy violations, supervising seasonal staff, and supporting administrative and operational functions for the Pre-College Student Life team. The work provides staff with experience in Residence Life, Campus Activities/Student Development, and Housing Operations. Each Area Coordinator will manage one or more residence hall with Pre-College students and supervise seasonal staff in their assigned residential area. With the support of professional and seasonal staff, the Area Coordinator will oversee the operational needs for their assigned residential area. Area Coordinators will have the opportunity to create programs for their assigned residential area, as well as supporting the execution of large-scale campus-wide activities including off-campus excursions.

Crested Communications is the student-run communications firm at the University of Hartford. The course functions as an experiential learning opportunity whereby students work with real world clients on various public relations and communication campaigns. This student-run agency works closely with communication professionals in the Hartford area, and beyond, to begin exposing students to the ever-changing world of the communications industry. Students are assigned professional roles throughout the semester and are accountable for the client work submitted. Students engage in client issues and analysis in addition to communicating with clients, pitching ideas, and executing campaigns.
