During my time as a Doula I had the privilege and opportunity to help navigate families during one of the the most vulnerable and beautiful experiences in their lives. As a birthing doula I helped families through the birthing process in home and in hospitals. Some of those duties included:

• Educated expectant families on the benefits of various childbirth methods, empowering them to make informed decisions about their birth experience.
• Supported birthing women in achieving their desired birth experience by creating a calm and nurturing environment.
• Facilitated successful transitions into parenthood by offering practical advice on newborn routines, sleep patterns, and developmental milestones.
• Enhanced client satisfaction rates through personalized follow-up visits focusing on individual needs assessment.

Due to a gap in my employment history I like to explain this to future employers. In 2010 my husbands job took my family and I from the Central-Valley of California to Denver Colorado where I had the fortunate opportunity to stay home with our children. During this time I was able to find my real passion, childbirth. With that passion opened many other doors for me, while also allowing me the flexibility to be able to continue one of the most important jobs I have ever had, motherhood. As my children have grown I have only moved forward, immersing myself with every valuable opportunity to learn this industry.

During tenure with the department of corrections I developed vast knowledge in multiple aspects of the correctional medical and mental health systems. Created and implemented psychoeducational groups for inmates and their families in collaboration with mental health clinicians. Performed various responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Maintained up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices through ongoing professional development opportunities and trainings.
• Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that addressed the unique physical, mental, and emotional needs of each inmate.
• Enhanced patient care by providing comprehensive health assessments and implementing individualized nursing plans.
