  • Primary author & project manager for Indiana Newborn Screening Tracking & Education Program (INSTEP), a statewide web-based program designed to collect short- & long-term follow-up newborn screening data. Funded by HRSA through one of four three-year, $1.2-million grants awarded based on application merit & project plan/goals.
  • Collaborated with state & contracted web developers/IT staff to design, beta test, & release INSTEP web-based application & updates.
  • Provided in-person training for INSTEP web application to 300+ newborn screening coordinators at ~ 100 birthing facilities in Indiana.
  • Created & submitted quarterly & annual INSTEP progress reports.
  • Implemented newborn screening for critical congenital heart defects (2nd state in US).
  • Primary author of retention policy/research consent on state newborn screening dried blood spot card.
  • Revised state newborn screening law.
  • Assisted with implementation of cystic fibrosis (CF) newborn screening.
