I acted as interim chair for the Department of Political Science during the summer after the current chair left and before the new chair started her duties. Oversaw the conclusion of a faculty search and budgeting duties for the upcoming academic year.
As the first full-time advertising faculty member within the Department of Media Studies, I restructured the advertising curriculum to provide a cohesive flow among the courses, which allowed the students to build upon each successive course, leading up to taking the capstone advertising campaigns course. I developed courses in advertising research, advertising media planning, advertising copywriting, and redesigned the advertising design course. I also initiated the process of using actual clients in the advertising campaigns course to give students the experience of working with real brands and also fostering a community of service between the university and the community. I also established and advised the student American Advertising Federation student club on campus.
