My achievements in this roll at my current job would be passing a melt certified course with a 100% score and that I have trained some of the current leadership on operations of the cupola systems.
As a charge yard crane operator I have many tasks to complete in a 12 hour period. These consist of operating over head crane magnets from a cab anywhere from 6, 8, or 12 hours at a time. This process involves moving scrap metal of varying size and shape from the ground to a shaker system in order to produce molten iron of 3 different iron grades depending on the parts being ran. When not in the cranes I operate on the ground level different tasks throughout the shift. Tasks that include operating and forklift and front end loader, along with signing scrap trucks in and out and verifying the scrap is of quality that meets our standards. I work close with my employees, supervisors, and civilian truck drivers. The job also requires a level of physical fitness as we load commodities belts with different brick materials that can exceed 55lbs.
