I aspire to be the best Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner I can be with the time I am given. I hope to gain a plethora of experience with this company. I look forward to creating new professional relationships with coworkers and creating an impact in the community while providing psychiatric care to all patients.
My beliefs and values are at the forefront of who I am. My morals and ethics dictate the person I am and the care that I provide. Some of the values and beliefs that are of importance to me include treating others with kindness and compassion and treating everyone equally while not judging those whose values differ from mine. As a provider I pride myself on maintaining patient confidentiality and advocating for my patients while delivering non-judgmental and culturally sensitive care to all my patients regardless of personal background., The practice of personal reflection is one of the most important and effective techniques one can do to remain a solid humanitarian and provider. Individual key strengths I possess include humility, punctuality, moral integrity, and the instinct to do right even when obstacles show otherwise. I hope to bring satisfaction and happiness to all my patients, and I consider this to also be my weakness because that outcome is a rarity in the field of mental health. I hope to become a beacon of light to my patients and an effective leader to my coworkers. Learning to create an effective balance between these two expectations can be quite difficult, but it is a challenge I am willing to accept. I will continue to strive to be the best version of myself while displaying compassion, empathy, and understanding to all whom I encounter., A personal short-term goal of mine is to help others feel better about seeking out treatment. Stereotypes in mental health are painted horribly, and I advocate to change that opinion. A long-term goal I have is to complete my Doctorate degree. I plan to start this challenge in the next 3 years. I started out with my associates in nursing and transitioned to a bachelor's degree. While earning my bachelor's degree, I learned accountability, responsibility, and I became dedicated to doing what it took to graduate. School is challenging and is not for the faint of heart, but with time and dedication comes a sense of accomplishment. Every new day is a day closer to the goal of graduation, and the amount of pride that I feel cannot be measured. Through this educational and clinical experience, I have had the pleasure of working with children, adults, and the elderly, in both inpatient and outpatient community settings. These experiences have helped me to understand and see the need for psychiatric care in the community. The PMHNP role is important and should be appreciated and sought out. Mental health is more important than we know, and the healthcare community has only begun to scratch the surface of learning to treat the associated illnesses and symptoms.
