Personal Statement

I entered the healthcare field in 2012. My goal was to make a purposeful living while caring for patients during their most vulnerable times. My nursing experiences opened my eyes to the healthcare obstacles that many Americans face, and it strengthened my desire to service those in need. After moving to southern Illinois in 2017, I saw the incredible need for healthcare providers in my new community. Although I was fulfilled as a nurse, I felt a calling to pursue an advanced practice role.

Advanced practice nursing is a critical healthcare profession. By utilizing evidence-based practices guidelines, nurse practitioners offer increased access, quality care services at a lower cost. My commitment to evidence-based medicine and continued education strengthens my knowledge and abilities within my scope of practice. I am dedicated to providing patient education, preventative health services, and disease management for patients ages 3 and up. I strongly believe that care should be patient and family centered, and all factors should be considered when determining the best route of treatment.

My practice philosophy encompasses my values, beliefs, and motivations as a provider. Because every person is magnificently unique, every patient deserves individualized care. I aim to build trusting and meaningful relationships with my patients, which allows me to treat them holistically as unique individuals. My patients deserve my time, my fullest attention, and my deepest consideration at every encounter.
