My name is Cristian Aguirre I am 27 years of age from Richwood, Texas. I attended Wharton County Jr College where I received my AAS Process tech degree. I am currently a 7 year experience board operator, outside operator, and lab operator for polyethylene 5/6/7 at Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas.
I am currently a Special relief operator for DOW’s newest polyethylene block. My job as a SRO for poly 5/6/7 consist of many duties that require me to work as a board operator, outside operator and lab operator. Roles in this job are:
• Fulfill the role of "Operating the Plant"
• Operate and field check process equipment. Monitor process conditions, equipment, and control systems.
• Perform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventive maintenance utilizing the appropriate work processes and disciplines. Enter work requests with well-defined scope for repair.
• Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
• Operate the production trains following procedures and using understanding of plant Technology to meet and exceed product capacity and quality goals.
• Uses process knowledge and skills to create, modify, and improve operating discipline procedures and practices to improve plant performance.
• Performs tasks assigned to operations per Master Task List (e.g. field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc.).
• Write thorough safe work permits that ensure that maintenance jobs are completed safely and successfully.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance including development of red-tag masters and clearing procedures.
• Work overtime as required to complete required tasks and fill open shifts for operating facility.

I hired on as a distribution operator at DOW chemicals marine terminal. My day to day duties as a distribution operator were to load and unload rail cars, load products into drums, load products into totes, and also be my shifts Immediate response leader/Rover/trainer. My role as a IRL/Rover was to communicate directly with my scheduler to plan out what will be done throughout the day, then i would make labels and line up tanks and rail cars to my warehouse for drumming. I was also the only permit writer on my shift.
I worked at Formosa Plastics Co. with Tellepsen as a Pipefitter. My job duties were to assist in the pipefitting and new construction of Polyethylene 3.
