  • Two days in Fall 2011, University of New Mexico, Pot Creek Cultural Site, NM, Gained field experience in archaeological excavation and analysis. Learned data recording and cataloging. Participated in lectures and discussions on archaeological theory and methodology.
  • June 5th - July 14th, 2023, University of New Mexico, Cibola National Forest and Santa Fe National Forest, NM, Participated in archaeological pedestrian block survey in the Santa Fe National Forest (Jemez Ranger District) and Cibola National Forest (Sandia Ranger District). Located and marked new and previously recorded archaeological sites which were identified during field reconnaissance searches. Used Laboratory of Anthropology (LA) forms to fully record new sites and update previously recorded sites. Assessed National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility for archaeological sites and wrote eligibility recommendations for NM LA form. Conducted condition assessments on previously recorded archaeological sites. Documented archaeological sites and assemblages using digital photography. Mapped features using compass-and-tape and GPS mapping. Analyzed site artifact assemblages containing prehistoric lithic debitage and tools, prehistoric ceramics, and historic artifacts. Mapped archaeological sites using GPS devices (handheld Garmin GPS and ArcGIS Field Maps with Geode GNSS receiver). Conducted fuels assessment on fire-sensitive archaeological sites. Instructed campers during a week-long youth archaeology camp.
