- Training included weapons, day and night parachute operations, military operations in urban terrain, desert operations, and various other infantry skills.
- As a senior First Lieutenant I was assigned as the Infantry Support Platoon leader, as such, I trained my infantry platoon to conduct convoy and aerial resupply operations.
- In August of 1990, I deployed to Saudi Arabia as and advance team for my Battalion for Desert Shield.
