I monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, supporting laboring patients through all stages of labor and recovery to ensure their comfort and safety. I pay close attention and respect individualized birth plans, enhancing patient satisfaction and engagement while advocating for patient autonomy by actively involving them in decision-making processes regarding their birthing preferences. I collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors and midwives, to help the labor process and improve patient outcomes. In addition I support women through childbirth and postnatal recovery. In emergency situations, I respond swiftly with interventions and support cesarean sections as needed. Additionally, I mentor new nursing staff, sharing best practices and providing guidance to uphold a high standard of patient care

I provided high-quality care in a combined Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Antepartum unit, serving as a charge nurse to oversee unit operations, staff coordination, and patient flow. I effectively managed postpartum care, triaged antepartum patients, and circulated during cesarean sections, ensuring seamless collaboration with surgical teams. I also cared for newborns requiring transfer to higher-level facilities, coordinating safe transitions while supporting families. My proficiency in breastfeeding support empowered mothers through tailored education, and my leadership in high-pressure settings consistently promoted safe, compassionate outcomes for patients and newborns.

I served as a dedicated support person and educator for mothers and families throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey. I led monthly breastfeeding classes and facilitated support groups to provide education, encouragement, and community during their pregnancy. In addition to direct patient support, I actively participated in the Lake County Breastfeeding Coalition, collaborating with healthcare professionals and community leaders to promote best practices in maternal and infant care. I also played a key role in helping the Lake Health System achieve the Baby-Friendly designation, contributing to system-wide efforts to support breastfeeding and improve outcomes for mothers and newborns.
