Domestic Policy Council, White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges & Universities

• Worked with the Executive Director to devise strategies to sustain and expand federal support to HBCUs, direct efforts to strengthen the pipeline of students from secondary education to HBCUs, examine, interpret and provide guidance on federal budgets.
• Served as a liaison with HBCU administrators and advocacy groups, including Thurgood Marshall College Fund, NAFEO, and UNCF, to access resources from the federal government.
• Conceptualized and organized the Annual White House Summit on HBCUs in Oct. 2017.

U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Partnerships & Public Engagement

• Lead an organizational design and strategy for USDA’s minority serving higher education programs, including defining the vision and strategic intent for the program, and aligning the leadership team around a unified vision, set of shared values, organizational competencies, and performance metrics

• Managed and developed relationships with key foundations, businesses, and other partners to advance 21st Century job skills partnerships.
• Diligently worked to understand client needs and problem-solving issues of strategy, programming and positioning while making appropriate connections to improve their success.
• Initiated and developed relationships with influential individuals and groups within the Historically Black College and University and philanthropy community and mobilized them to partner with Fullbridge on a highly visible grant opportunity with the Lilly Foundation focused on 21st Century job skills.
• Provided strategic thought leadership with higher education presidents and provosts to integrate jobs skill training, credentials and industry certificates into campus curricula
• Developed proposal for the State of Mississippi Workforce Development Board to implement a jobs training platform to teach state job seekers soft and digital skills.

Redesign of Administrative Organizational Structure for Public University System

• Worked with the Chancellor of the flagship campus in a large state university system to clarify the specific functions and capabilities required within the office to best support the Chancellor, internal and external constituents, and the system office; identified and benchmarked comparable universities and organizational structures; conducted gap analysis by comparing capabilities needed to existing capabilities within the Chancellor’s office; developed a comprehensive plan that outlined the optimal roles and functions of the Chancellor’s office, the resource needs, and transition plan.

Operational Improvement Strategy for Southern Region Education Board (SREB)

• Commissioned by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to recommend actions to improve internal finance and HR operations for SREB in preparation for a Federal Common Core grant.
• Recommended “best-fit” operating model and governance approach to CEO and direct-reports.

Strategic Plan Development and Labor Market Assessment for a University System

• Facilitated an extensive stakeholder management process (including state leaders, business and community leaders, philanthropic leaders, and university faculty/staff) to determine top strategic economic and education priorities for the state of Maine.
• Conducted a feasibility study, including an assessment of demand from both students and employers to combine three (3) graduate professional programs into a single center for graduate professional education, that is aligned to the local and national workforce needs.

Transition Planning for Newly Elected State Governor

• Designed and facilitated structured conversations designed to get wide-ranging constituencies (e.g., school, district, nonprofit, university, business leaders, and community leaders) to consensus in developing a state-wide K-12 education plan for a newly elected governor.

• Managed internal and external communications for the Domestic Education Policy Team; including, drafting remarks for Director’s speaking engagements, coordinating the clearance process for a five-person team, and managing relationships with advocacy and nonprofit organizations.
• Conducted analytical research on the Parent Plus Loan credit qualification standards impacting HBCUs and PBI applicants.

• Selected as one of 8 fellows, amongst 300 applicants, to be a member of the 2010-11 ProInspire Fellowship, a co-hort of business professionals who spend one year in a strategic role in the social sector.
• Collaborated with D.C.'s community organizations/nonprofits to maximize the DCPS College Access Program (CAP); created an annual convening of CAP partners to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Served as project manager for the PSAT Rollout in DC Public Schools. Achieved a 79% student participation rate; a 30% increase from the 2009-2010 school year.

• Provided business advisory services to Accenture senior executives on how to reach financial targets.
• Managed the financial health and reporting of over 20 federal government contracts (~$13M in revenue).
