Summary

I am a single full-time mom and a full-time student at Keuka College working on my BA in American Sign Language Interpreter. Before I started at Keuka College, I was a full-time Finger Lakes Community College student. I graduated from FLCC and decided to further my education. So, I worked hard and got a scholarship to Keuka College to finish and receive my BA in American Sign Language Interpreter. When I graduate in 2025 from KC, I want to get a job as a freelance Interpreter or Some interpreter working with young kids.

  • I have assisted individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, Feeding the guys, or cutting up their food to the right size for them to eat safely.
  • I took a CPR class and became certified.
  • Medical medication class is to be able to give the guys in the house their medication and to be able to order medicine when one of the guys runs out of their meds, or multiple guys run out. I also learned how to check them in when we received the medication at the house.
  • I also had to take a class called Skip, a hands-on class that teaches you how to restrain an individual. You also learned how to use a skip move to remove them from a room or situation that is not safe for you or them and how to safely bring them down to the floor if necessary.
  • Also learned how to use a Hoyer lift.
