• Dr. Lee Medical Center (Winter 2024) - Responsibilities: Embedding patient tissues such as biopsies from GI, Prostate, Skin, and Lymph nodes ensuring all pieces of tissue were accounted for, on edge, and oriented correctly. Operated and maintained reagents from both the automated H&E stainer as well as the tissue processor. Performed special stains on multiple slides simultaneously while hand cover slipping patient slides. Special stains include Alcian Blue, PAS/PAS-F, Trichrome, and Diff-Quik
• Pomona Valley Hospital (Fall 2023) - Responsibilities: Embedding patient tissue such as breast tissue, placenta, prostate and GI biopsies. Performed microtomy with both manual and automated microtomes ensuring tissue sections contained little to no artifacts. Maintained and changed reagents on automated H&E stainer. Assisted with the filing of patient slides.
• City of Hope Hospital (Summer 2023)- Responsibilities: Performed special stains such as GMS, Congo Red, AFB, Masson Trichrome, and Colloidal Iron. Assisted with maintaining and changing reagents on tissue processor and embedding center. Prepared H&E slides with an automated stainer and cover slipper.
