Animal Welfare Award
I Received my Animal Welfare Award for being involved in developing a canine enrichment program and helping develop new housing for our large animal facility . The facility was Canines as well as NHP's and we work with an outside company who built the animal enclosures to our specifications .
I was the lead Technician in the Canine area of the facility and i worked on ordering enrichment toys , daily play time, exercise and training schedules for the Canines . I also helped develop a sanitization process and a schedule for daily room cleaning , Bi-weekly toy change and sanitization , room break down and sanitization , ATP testing of the rooms for cleanliness and helped with writing SOP's , procedures and guidelines. I also developed a schedule for canine nail trimming every three weeks and trained technicians in the nail trimming process so we could take some of the minor responsibility's off the Animal Health Care Technicians .
