Summer duties include repairing and replacing guardrails, signs, guide post, and fences along road ways. Crack sealing and asphalt. Removal of hazard trees and debris along roadway. Operating numerous hand tools to do the tasks at hand. Driving dump truck, pickup, side kick broom, sweeper and loader. Setting up and tearing down signs for traffic control and running automatic flagged and pilot car.
Winter operations duties include loading the dump truck with material for driving the roads and plowing snow off road. Maintaining the upkeep of equipment and keeping track off material used. Operating vechile at a safe but efficient speed to keep roads safe for the traveling public.
Load and unload rail cars to proper storage tanks and documentation of total gallons in tanks. Load and unload trucks with correct amount of gallons customer ordered while maintaining and proper load weight distribution.
Coordinate with costumers for deliver times and quality check.
Foreman duties
Insure all materials are loaded and properly secured on trucks. Employees are lined out for the task at hand and where to go and what time to be there. Make sure all tools and equipment work correctly before leaving. On job work with contractors to troubleshoot any issues or suggestions to finish the job correctly and in timely matter. Reading blue prints and laying out and marking for signs and pavement marking(parking lines, stop bars, turn arrows and other road markings). Keep track of material’s and hours on job.
Truck driver
Make sure trucks are maintained and working properly. Fixing minor issues and reporting rest to mechanics. Maintain a proper log book. Making sure loads are secured properly and not over weight
