SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

  • As a retail manager with SEARS, I manage a multi-million-dollar business with a Fortune 500 company. Received many awards for sales and growth. Responsible for hiring and coaching sales associates, scheduling, inventory control and delivering customer satisfaction. Fifty-plus employees fall under my direct supervision. Assisted the store general manager in providing customer satisfaction. Most of my associates enjoyed working for me.
  • During my time as a college instructor at Indiana State University, I taught sociology and psychology. I also taught in the distant learning department, which gave me the opportunity to teach in four Indiana prisons. I had close personal interaction with offenders sentenced for felonious crimes.
  • As a pastor of the United Methodist Church, I have gained a deep understanding of human needs. I have worked with paid and volunteer staff. I have learned how to resolve conflicts and motivate people.
  • As a volunteer in various Work Camps responding to disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and more I have been a team leader on seventeen work camps traveling to areas throughout the USA devastated by natural disaster assisting people with a hand up to get back on their feet. Work often involved tearing out damaged drywall, floors, roofing and more.
  • My construction skills are diverse. Installing septic tanks, sewer, and water lines and swimming pools (above and below ground): estimating jobs for time and materials: installing and finishing drywall, framing, siding, asphalt, metal roofing, floor tile, and laminate flooring, cut rafters, installed roof trusses, painting, and finish and trim work: installed new plumbing and remodel, new electrical installation and rewire: built houses, garages, room additions, decks, wheelchair ramps, outbuildings, sheds, remodeled baths, kitchens, built cabinets, installed cabinets, doors, windows, furnaces, and ductwork. Various other skills related to construction.
  • I am proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Premier Pro, After Affects, Photoshop, and many other programs.
