As a Sterile Processing Tech II here at Beebe Medical Center I have picked cases for the next day and placed items in case carts also sending them to the OR using a dumbwaiter.
I wear proper PPE in the decontamination room while I clean instruments and place them in the wash.
I use a tracking system called SPM when receiving a case cart in decontamination, in prep and pack, loading the sterilizer/V-pro, stocking the instruments back up in our storage side, and also when picking cases and sending the case carts up to the OR.
I properly load up the sterilizer carts wrap and peel pack on top levels, and metal containers on the bottom. I record the Bi once the sterilizer is finished.
I have provided guidance and instructions to new staff members regarding sterile processing techniques.

At Autism Delaware I worked as a mentor/ advocate to people who are on the autism spectrum. The spectrum can vary and everyone is different therefore when working one on one with a person you had to really get to know them and how they communicated and what their needs were in order to affectively support them. As a mentor we supported our clients in their daily tasks and in their places of employment.
