Accomplishments

    ● National Board Certification

One of the most difficult experiences in my career was achieving National Board Certification. It challenged me to reflect on, assess, and refine my teaching○ practice. The process made me more effective in my teaching strategies, which can be seen in my students’ growth.

    ● Student Growth

My students’ growth is something that I am incredibly proud of because it shows my commitment to understanding my student’s needs and my ability to help them grow. Historically, the students at Richland perform lower than the state average in math. Improving these scores is a district-wide initiative supported by the Math Committee, which I am a part of.

    ■ My students' average ELA growth in the 2022-2023 school year was 105%.

    ■ My students' average math growth in the 2022-2023 school year was 87%

    ● Leading a Kagan-Inspired Strategy Session for staff members

    ○ The School Improvement Team identified student engagement as a focus area for the school year. I led a Kagan-inspired strategy session for our district’s staff members to support this focus. This required me to synthesize information I had learned in a workshop that I attended to create a presentation/activities to strengthen classroom engagement. This process challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and share practices that I value and feel have highly influenced the success of my students in the classroom.
