ABA Therapist/Behavioral Therapist
Prism Behavioral Solutions
08.2023 - 10.2023
Job description included ABA Therapist/Behavioral Therapist.
In my time at Prism, I had the opportunity to be trained as an ABA therapist where I worked one on one with children on the spectrum.
I learned how to work alongside children and their families while building connections and relationships to better support and help prepare children for everyday life and skills.
During therapy sessions we use ABA therapy interventions and methods to set targets and meet these targets during playful matters/approaches, while setting distinct schedules that meet each child's distinct methods of learning.
The most rewarding aspect of this job was seeing kiddos learn new skills and be able to practice them on their own.
Because children who have autism have distinct learning patterns in ABA therapy we use positive reinforcement, encouragement and rewards during one on one in-home therapy sessions to help these children succeed in their own setting and own pace.
As an ABA therapist I was in charge of writing daily notes which included updates and interventions used during sessions.
Worked alongside BCBAs and case specialists to better support children.
