  • Switchboard Operator for the hospital- Field and redirect incoming calls from patients, various practices, and other hospitals. Connect/ page in-hospital personnel. Contact on-call specialists for doctors and nurses. Record and deliver consultation requests.
  • Emergency communications services for the hospital- Announce code over the PA system and notify the appropriate personnel when an emergency code is called. Rave alerts for whole system issues and helicopter landings.
  • After hours answering service for multiple practices- Some of these practices are directly affiliated with South County Hospital and some are just answering service clients. Patients are able to callin ti be connected with on-call provider or to have a message faxed/ e-mailed to the office for the next day.
  • Personnel Training- Coached and trained new employees on proper procedures and protocols to help improve new employee proficiency, improve call times and the patient experience.
  • Issue resolution- Utilize critical thinking skills to help diagnose and resolve issues for patients/providers as well as issues within the Switchboard System.
  • Communication- Help to develop and sustain best practices to ensure timely and accurate communication with in the hospital and with the practices and providers that we service.
