- This project required new 138kV substation to meet the new power demand
- Convinced project team to use a main-tie-main design of the switchgear and a dual feed for the substation to improve reliability and maintainability of new substation
- Designed and justified back up feeder for the surface water substation in an olefins plant
- This included a new feed from Reliant HL&P and the transfer scheme between the existing feed and the backup
- Inspected the switchgear and reviewed drawings
- Worked with project management and plant engineering to understand the differing issues and goals of both parties and resolved these differences for the best outcome
- Researched new technology for the purpose of improved corporate wide reliability
- For example, I researched partial discharge cable testing technology and applied this technology to uncover potential failures during a scheduled plant outages
