I have work experience starting at 15 years old. My first job was washing dishes at a resturant. After that I became a waitress through High School. I was also attending Cosmetology school during my senior year of High School. I finished Cosmetology in July 1986 and starting working as a Hairdresser full time. I tried working in another field for a couple of years, which was transportation (12/1989 through 1/1991) because providing insurance for my family was very expensive. I went back to being a Haidresser full time (1/1991 through 5/2007) because I liked setting my own hours and I was a wife and mother to one child. This allowed me to take care of my child while I was working. In May 2007 I started working at Davidson Surgical Associates as a CNA. My job was 4 days per week so I still did hair on my day off which was always Tuesdays. I did both jobs until our office became Wake Forest affiliated. Then my position went to 4 1/2 days a week. At that time I had to give up my Hair business to completely focus on my career in the medical field. I started thinking I wanted to become more than a CNA so I started my studies for a Registered Medical Assistant with American Medical Technologies. I become a RMA 4-24-2015 and I've never looked back.
