Critical Care Transport RN

  • In October of 2022, I transferred from my position in the Baystate Noble Emergency Department to my current role as a Critical Care Transport Nurse.
  • As a Critical Care Transport Nurse, I work alongside the EMT and Paramedic on shift to transport high-acuity patients between hospitals.
  • We primarily focus on transferring unstable patients with numerous interventions needed during transport such as ventilator management and medication administration.

Captain/EMS Coordinator

  • I began working for the Southampton Fire Department as an EMT-Basic in 2016 and in 2019, began working as a Paramedic. Starting in November of 2021, I oversaw the Continuous Quality Improvement process for the department and subsequently, I was promoted to Lieutenant. In November of 2022, I received an additional promotion to Captain/EMS Coordinator.
  • In conjunction with a second Captain/EMS Coordinator, we oversee and manage nearly all aspects of EMS operations at the department including training, CQI, and supply management. As an EMS Coordinator, I work frequently with our Fire Chief, EMS Coordinators from other agencies, our Medical Control from Cooley Dickinson Hospital, and representatives from the Office of Emergency Medical Services as needed.

  • In January 2016, I started employment with American Medical Response as an EMT-Basic. In March of 2019, I completed training as a Paramedic and began working as such. In June 2021, I began working for the newly established Critical Care Transport Team as a Paramedic and in December 2021, AMR promoted me to a field supervisor position. Currently, I work in two positions primarily, as a Paramedic for Critical Care Transport and as a Field Supervisor.
  • As a CCT Paramedic, I work in conjunction with a nurse and an EMT completing interfacility transports for high-acuity patients including intubated patients, patients requiring several medication administrations, and occasionally patients with advanced requirements such as invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
  • As a Supervisor, I oversee all operational functions of the company during a shift including prioritizing ambulance requests and managing personnel, assisting facilities with needs and concerns, and responding as a Paramedic to provide Advanced Life Support level care when needed.
