We come in to our jobs with a mindset that it is essentially a "job". But I don't forget that I chose this profession to help people whose hopes can be lost. Helping those who are uncertain if their last days are in the hospital, helping those who have suffered find a new profound meaning in life, and helping those whose loved ones are eagerly waiting to see them one last time. It is my DUTY as a nurse to provide the most utmost and safest care possible within my limits. I help those in need not only because it is my "job", but it is also my DUTY for both my patients and their loved ones.
