Work History

HCB Operations Lead

The Hack Foundation
10.2022 - Current
  • At HCB I onboard organizations with nonprofit missions onto our fiscal sponsorship platform where they can fundraise and spend their nonprofit funds. My current position requires me to be an educator, a customer service representative, a mentor to high school students, and much more.
  • My regular tasks include hosting daily Zoom calls, responding to clients over the phone and email within 24 hours, recruiting and training employees on my team, educating clients about our software and about fiscal sponsorship, moving money, assisting with grant applications, and more.
  • I have led multiple projects successfully that have resulted in my team's and company's growth. For example, this time last year, my job title was HCB Operations Assistant II. I was given my first large scale project last fall when we partnered with The Argosy Foundation who wanted us to distribute $300K for them in grant funds. I led this project and distributed $300K in grant funds to 147 FIRST teams across the US and Canada. Due to the successful nature of last year's project, this year we repeated the project again. This time the Argosy Foundation asked us to distribute $1.3M in grant funding.
  • I have recruited and trained 8 new employees in 1 year.
  • I have been promoted from HCB Operations Assistant 1, to HCB Operations Assistant II, to HCB Operations Lead in under 2 years.

Companion Animal Leader | Department Manager

Petco
05.2019 - 10.2022
  • As CAL, I was responsible for overseeing animal care and maintenance, animal ordering, and administering of medicine and special care in our Wellness environment for sick or injured animals.
  • As the department manager, I was responsible for overseeing my team and delegating tasks to ensure proper animal care.
  • Before I worked as CAL, I worked as the aquatics specialist where I oversaw the aquatic department. In this role I was responsible for maintaining the wellbeing of the aquatic life and the overall wellbeing of the tanks.
  • During my time at Petco I learned about freshwater aquatic fish husbandry, fresh water tank maintenance in regards to sustaining healthy aquatic life, and reptile husbandry. I learned how to recognize and distinguish between healthy aquatic life / reptile and sick aquatic life / reptiles based on behavior and appearance. I educated the public about aquatic life needs and proper tank maintenance and educated about reptile husbandry for the good of the animals and for the benefit of the new pet parent. I gained experience as a manager and developed leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.

Stable Hand

UVM Co-Operative Barn

  • At UVM's Co-op barn I cleaned the stalls of the animal science program's horses.
  • I prepped and fed the animal science horse's their meals and gave them their hay.
  • I drove the Kubota around the property to deliver water / hay in the winter months.
  • I led horses in and out of pasture and dressed them in their blankets and boots as required.
  • I helped to keep records of the animal science horses vet visits so we knew when they needed to be seen again and for what reasons.
  • I helped to monitor the animal science horses and also student horses while I was with them to make sure everyone was happy and healthy while on barn watch.
