Patient Check-In & Greeting
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional, welcoming manner at arrival.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all patient arrivals.
Registration & Information Verification
- Process patient registration and pre-registration paperwork accurately.
- Collect and verify demographic, contact, insurance, and identification information.
- Enter patient data into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Insurance & Financial Duties
- Verify basic insurance eligibility and obtain insurance cards/IDs.
- Explain financial options, co-pays, and patient financial responsibility.
- Aid in basic insurance verification for hospital billing systems.
Appointment & Scheduling Support
- Schedule patient appointments and manage appointment changes as needed.
- Transcribe orders and update scheduling systems accurately.
Communication & Customer Service
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally and route to appropriate departments.
- Liaise with clinical staff to maintain patient flow and resolve issues.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
Record Keeping & Accuracy
- Ensure all patient registration data is correct and up-to-date in the hospital system.
- Update medical records and correct registration errors when identified.
Other Administrative Tasks
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, scanning documents, and maintaining organized work areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
