It is my desire to continue working for the United States Forest Service and increase my capacity as a public servant. I possess 10 seasons of service working in various technician and interpretive roles. I wish to put my experience and passion into work through stewardship and balance. Increased professionalism while serving the mission has always been and continues to remain my top goal and highest priority.
Lead technician GS 7 step 1 as of October 6, 2024. Responsible for maintenance and management of all “front country” recreation sites. This includes Mendenhall Lake Campground, Auke Village Campground, Lena Beach Recreation Area, Auke Recreation Area, Dredge Lake, Skaters Cabin and West Glacier use areas. Helped manage user groups permitted to use these fee areas, including use authorizations for outfitter and guides, recreation events, as well as other recreation activities through USFS recreation management websites. Supervised and directed campground and recreation area hosts. Used ArcGIS for hazardous tree identification and management. Used ArcGIS to assist, guide and supervise interns on the use of trail survey recreation facilities, trails, and their present visitor use and demand. Assisted with cabin and trail crews on group projects. Integral in fulfilling user group satisfaction with Juneau Ranger District sites and facilities. Helped develop and administer annual work plans for trails and recreation resources. Worked with Juneau ski club articulating the NEPA process and related NEPA info for extensive ski network use within the Juneau Ranger District. Participated in trail and bridge building, as well as developed front country sites and recreation facility maintenance and construction.
Proficient in understanding and communicating CBJ code and ordinance. Trained and authorized by Juneau police to enforce CBJ ordinance as pertained to special public uses utilized by individuals, permitee and guided outfitters.

Participated in planning, developing, and implementing related work plans, projects and activities on many trail and cabin projects within the Juneau Ranger District. Worked as an Interpretive Ranger at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center in Juneau, AK.
Within a professional capacity, I helped to educate public visitors from all over the world among varying cultures, as well as young school aged groups about the dynamic aspects of life, succession, and Glaciology amid the Mendenhall Glacier National Recreation Area.

Within a research capacity, I worked as an entry level technician sampling woody debris, invertebrates, ground water and turbidity of surface water about various sites within the Tongass National Forest.
Work was performed at established field sites on Chichagof, Baranof, and Prince of Whales Island. The primary focus was to work in various degrees of deforested areas including a controlled old growth site. At each site, we collected invertebrates and woody material and checked ground water flow by means of calibrated pressure Transducers. An experimental Turbidimeter was used to determine the turbidity of surface water at each location. Also, I worked in the Carta Wilderness area sampling gravel deposits in stream beds. Rifle Bearer position was required as our research was conducted in Brown Bear habitat. Spot award received for this season
