Work History
Tape Edge Operator
CAPITAL BEDDING
10.2022 - Current
At Capital bedding my main Job duties consist of assembling handmade mattresses from the ground up in an assembly line setting.
Duties consisted of pulling appropriate materials from inventory to match formulas and build sheets for mattresses to be built for the day.
After all materials are gathered and placed in order according to the daily schedules, a partner and I would continue actually assembling the mattresses with the materials that were pulled. This involved using Pneumatic tools such Staple guns, C-Ring Guns, and Collar Guns. After using the appropriate tools and materials to construct the mattresses, they would be moved over to the tape edge machine where another operator finishes the mattress. (I am currently one of three operators)
Other duties consisted of unloading and loading semi trucks and trailers, as well as company owned trucks and trailers all by hand without the use of a fork lift or pallet jack. Mainly loading mattresses for outgoing orders as we do not keep an inventory of product. Everything is made to order. The only time we would use any sort of equipment to unload would have been for foam roll shipments. In this case we would use Two wheel hand trucks in order to maneuver the rolls which varied in length. The tallest being around 8ft fall.
During Downtime at Capital Bedding, I was no stranger to a broom handle, or work station organization/ tidy up. I would also go through the foam racks and remove any plastic wrapping from all bales that were unopened to help speed up the processes throughout the entire facility.
Provided on-the-job training to newly hired workers and team members.
Assembled products according to changing daily work orders and specific customer needs.
