Experienced in providing patient care across various healthcare settings, including critical resource units and emergency response teams. Responsibilities included monitoring vital signs, documenting care activities in electronic health records, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans. Adaptable to high-acuity environments, demonstrating effective communication skills and critical thinking during code blue situations. Proven ability to manage time efficiently while ensuring patient comfort and addressing their needs.
I have a unique role at The James. I am part of the James Critical Resource Unit. I essentially fill in on any floor that needs PCA support. Giving me experience from med-surg to ICU-acuity patients.
A separate role I have is the 'Resource PCA,' where I am part of the ERT (Emergency Response Team). That gave me firsthand experience with code blues and rapidly declining health. I have ample experience with CPR, time management, and high-acuity patients. Another aspect of the job is being proficient at lab draws, as at Ohio State there is not a phlebotomy team. If a PCA is unable to get the labs, I am called in to help.
