Member of Emmy-winning team that edits, produces and processes content for the NBA league website, the NBA league app and various other promotional platforms as part of Turner Sports' larger media contract with the league. Duties include:

• Site layout
• Copy editing with emphasis on AP style
• Photo selection
• Headline writing
• Editorial judgment
• Spot writing, particularly but not limited to breaking news
• Editing/composing push alerts for more than 3 million subscribers
  

Started as a high school freelancer before working my way up to our coverage team for the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs in my final years. That includes an enormous range of beats and events, including:

• Lead high school writer in a coverage area of roughly 100 area schools
• Colleges, including beat writer for UTSA's start-up Division I football program
• Backup Spurs beat writer, primarily focused on popular blog and other web duties

This is in addition to:

• Multiple NBA Finals
• Roughly 300 NBA games
• Multiple NCAA Finals Fours/Tournament events
• Roughly 10-15 major college bowl games
• Roughly 50 college football games
• Roughly 30 NFL games
• Multiple Dallas Cowboys training camps

• Roughly 300 Texas H.S. football games
• Roughly 50 Texas H.S. state title events

These jobs covered everything you would expect for beat coverage, including game stories, sidebars, features, breaking news and pretty much everything in between.
