  • Creation and implementation of best management practice plans for large scale mangrove forest removal on Federally owned and managed waterways and canals, to be in compliance with the Clean Water Act, and mitigate damage to surrounding areas from heavy machinery, prevent siltation of canals/waterways, and the creation of petrochemical mitigation and oil spill response plans, as well as instructing, training, overseeing, and the implementations of aforementioned plans for +25 personnel crew.
  • Advise and consult with project managers on the implementation of new installation and projects in compliance with existing federal regulations and best management practices in regard to xeriscaping, low flow irrigation, the utilization of native Hawaiian plants, drought/disease tolerant and insect resistant species, and floral layering and layout of projects.
  • Record keeping and data entry of pesticide utilization by company in Federal pest management pesticide use reporting system, as well as the certified hazardous waste accumulation point manager.

Arborist

  • Overseeing and personally engaging in the installation of multiple tree planting projects on federal contracts, as well as their continued maintenance.
  • Identify and utilize best management practices when encountering protected and endangered species such as the Manu o ku, fairy tern (Gygis alba)
  • Conduct and write tree assessments to determine health and maintenance needs of individual and wide scale areas on multiple large scale contracts.
  • Utilized specialized equipment for tree care and maintenance tasks such as resistograph testing and evaluation.
  • Trained and instructed tutorials to new staff on best practices for tree care and safety procedures, as well as machinery usage and safety.
  • Implemented pest management strategies to protect trees from infestations, such as utilization of Arborjet injections of pesticides, targeted pruning/scheduling, identification, locating and elimination of pests and their supporting habitats, including monitoring landscape areas for signs of pests, diseases, and invasive species.
  • Manage and supervise one to three crews over multiple large contracts.
  • Ensured compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding tree maintenance and removal.
