I would help up the Therapist and Therapist Assistant with exercises with patients to make it easier for them on a heavy day schedule. With speaking Spanish, I would also take part in evaluations with the PT in translating for the process. I gained a lot of experience of what kind of questions and answers it is needed from a therapist to communicate well and know what best for the patient in the clinic.
- A lot of cleaning, disinfecting the equipment, washing and folding in order to keep the clinic ready for all patients.
- Helped with basic clinical needs and responded to patient requests.
- I would also assist with the pool patients in transferring them into and out of the pool.
- I was also part of a new system called Figure 8 that was used to measure and evaluate patients range of motion and mobility throughout their visits in the PT.
I was able to do it with Spanish speaking patients and do the set up for the Figure 8 technology and exercise. - I have experience with explaining dry-needling and helping out the PT with the Spanish speaking patient process.
