With nearly three decades of experience in the education field, I have served as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Throughout my career, I have worked with students from sixth grade through graduation. I have worked in high-performing schools and those facing challenges. In every role, I approach my work with passion and commitment to staff and students. My goal is to make a meaningful impact and contribute to continuous improvement of education for all.

  • Built Social Studies Curriculum in World History, United States History, Government, and Economics
  • Created a Physical Education Program including aspects of Kinesiology, Cardiovascular growth, Central Nervous System functions, Components of fitness, and how trauma and stress impact and affect all of those systems. Students developed personal SMART goals and had input and choice in their activities based on them.
  • Attended EL Achieve training and brought training back to staff.
  • Developed and implemented classroom routines to address varying student needs.
  • Designed detailed learning plans for struggling students based on test, homework and assignment records.
  • Fostered student curiosity and interest through creative hands-on activities.
  • Scheduled conferences with parents to discuss students' progress and classroom behavior.

  • Led Dixon community, parents, and school staff through the addition of sixth grade to the historically seventh and eighth grade middle school.
  • Integrated 40 percent more staff members to accommodate growth, and brought new academic programs to address student interest and needs.
  • Created a new Formative and Summative Assessment Program aimed at providing data rich decision making within the classroom, school programs, and intervention/enrichment.
  • Augmented a Professional Learning Community (PLC) with common planning, curriculum, assessment, data dissemination aligned with intervention and enrichment programs for targeted student academic growth.
  • Began and implemented a PBIS system with data monitoring of student behavior, staff involvement, and collaborative growth of the program.
  • Upgraded student technology by purchasing netbooks (1:1 ratio) for all classes, and incorporated Google classroom; Rocket Lit for science, Moby Max for special education, and IXL for math.
  • Transitioned the site into one with grade level teams, curriculum leads, and processes for collaboration on growth specific to each grade level, and subject.
  • Organized site wide training and implementation of targeted programs for growth.

  • Honored as a nominee for Administrator of the Year 2015.
  • Responsible for creation of the discipline program, data dissemination, and reorganization of disciplinary protocol; this is the foundation for the program that exists today.
  • Implemented a study skills program aimed at the lowest seventy students, and incorporated staffing, community building, and rotation of students into the program for intervention.
  • Organized and ran Eighth Grade Promotion, oversaw Special Education, Science, and the Physical Education department where we implemented a Garmin project that incorporated writing to learn.
  • Served as Safety and Emergency Program Coordinator, responsible for training staff in duties, organizing and running emergency drills/teams, and producing necessary information for the district and community.
  • Led an RTI team for the second phase of implementation site wide for tutorial periods every week.

  • Partnered with senior management to open new school, participated in all facets of school development including staffing, program development and culture.
  • 580 students attended grades 9 & 10 in the first year, and we added over 500 students each year after that including the development of all grade 11, and 12 curriculum, staffing, and training.
  • Collaborated directly with the city of San Ramon in coordination of shared facilities with the site, and all use of facilities. This included all athletic programs Freshman through Varsity, and all city programs for youth, and large scale events for the city.
  • Hired, trained, and evaluated certificated and classified staff to open DVHS including classrooms teachers, custodial, food service, clerical, and special programs.
  • Continued all staffing responsibilities including performance reviews, coaching, remediation, and non reelection of certificated and classified staff.
  • Oversaw curriculum development and implementation of instruction in Social Studies, World Language, Special Education, Fine Arts, and Physical Education.
  • Facilitated departmental and cross-curricular collaboration, development of pacing guides, implementation of common assessments and instruction.
  • Designed and Implemented the schoolwide emergency plan with the San Ramon Fire Department. This plan became a model plan for the district.
  • Responsible for the development of the DVHS athletic program including staffing, funding, development of athletic policies, and personally overseeing the growth of the program with each additional grade added.
