Responsibilities

• Privately tutoring 3 students - Aged, 14, 14, 17. Taught and assisted students in such areas as, Mathematics, Biology and American History; creating tailored lesson plans and study guides on subject matter.
• Coordinated parent meetings, discussing student progress and developing individualized solutions to areas of concern.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the mouse colony (800+ mice). This includes setting up breeding cages, daily check-up on mice and communication with animal facility and veterinary staff.
• Set up and organize 30+ breeding lines containing a variety of gene combinations.
• Perform molecular biology techniques, including DNA extraction, DNA cloning, PCR amplification, Restriction Digests, Bacterial Ligation and Transformation, Mouse Perfusions and Fluorescence Protein Imaging.
• Manage orders and process requisitions. Maintain chemical inventory and order additional supplies if needed.
• Oversee usage and documentation of Controlled Substances.
• Assist with Post-Doc research projects, mouse-lines and PCR Genotyping. Shadow procedures and administer medications based on required post-operative care.

Accomplishments

• Presented to lab, the molecular mechanisms behind Cre-LoxP Recombination Systems and discussed how interactions between LoxP sites and the Cre protein can be used to exploit genomic sequences and expression.
• Eliminated procedure gaps by effectively guiding and teaching 2 Technicians on operations of machinery, inspection protocols and processes.
• Managed and Implemented a shared excel document that tracked requested, completed and arrived orders.
• Revised and supervised a shared word document with detailed reports for each Mouse Line and information about individual mice.

Responsibilities

Observed lateral line development in embryonic model-organism, Zebrafish. Research approached questions surrounding embryonic development and spinal cord evolution.

• Gathered, arranged and corrected research data to create representative graphs and charts highlighting results for presentations.
• Supported research and development efforts of breeding techniques and cataloging to create new equipment and processes.
• Cataloged time-lapse photos of embryonic lateral line development in Zebrafish.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and accompany patients to medical appointments through phone-calls.
• Assist with patient hygiene, physical comfort, eating and drinking and mobility while observing and reporting specific changes.
• Record patient medical history and test results in online medical records (EHI software).
• Collect blood and laboratory specimens, and prepare them for testing.
• Prepare and charge patients with necessary billing amounts pertaining to their reason of visit.
• Transcribe appropriate ICD-9-CM codes relevant to patient symptoms into EHI system.
