Lead in grind department past 3 years, I have over 30 years in the aerospace industry. most of my time in manual grinding,I've run cnc grinders when their already set up(usually when someone is out that day) I can edit to run. But not to program. I can make my own tooling,using mill and lathe machines.Im good at reading blue prints and following mot instructions.
Set up grinding machines for production runs according to blueprints or drawings.
Adjusted machine settings as needed to achieve desired results within specified tolerances.
Cleaned and maintained grinding machines including replacing worn abrasive wheels when necessary.
Assisted other team members with machining tasks as required by management.
Operated a variety of hand-held power tools such as drills, saws and sanders to perform deburring tasks on work pieces after grinding operations were completed.
Measured parts with micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
Dressed grinding wheels by shaping them in accordance with the specified requirements of the job order.
Inspected finished products for conformance to customer requirements before shipment.
Verified conformance of ground work pieces to specifications using measuring tools such as gauges, micrometers and calipers.
Notified supervisor of any problems encountered while performing assigned tasks.
Mounted grinding wheels onto machines and monitored operation to verify functionality and safety.
Maintained, cleaned and lubricated machine parts to meet optimal performance levels.
Selected and mounted grinding wheels on machines according to specifications using hand tools and pulling from applied knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures.
