As the Lab & Facility Manager at the Hayward site, my responsibilities range from purchasing/negotiating, troubleshooting and hands-on maintenance, lab build-outs, and optimizing costs and budget management.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing all site contracts exceeding millions of dollars
• Manage entire Shipping/Receiving department, including international hazardous material shipments and any necessary documentation
• Head of site's EH&S, handling all chemical/waste management and acting safety officer
• Obtain and renew all facility permits, licenses, and contracts
• Coordinate and facilitate all facility services

As an R&D Scientist and Asset Manager, I diversified my time handling hands-on wet chemistry and managing all equipment and instruments at DiaCarta.

R&D Scientist Responsibilities:

• Laboratory Management included: Purchasing supplies, inventory tracking of chemicals, project budgeting, and implementing training protocols
• Created the Chemical Waste Management and optimized waste streams
• Synthesis and purification of novel Xenonucleic Acids (XNA) through various chromatography methods
• In-depth maintenance, customization, and troubleshooting for HPLC systems

Asset Management Responsibilities:

• Key Leader for Clinical team to successfully attain CAP Accreditation
• Created Equipment Program and negotiated service contracts for lab instruments
• Establish new equipment with IQ/OQ/PQ and upkeep with Calibrations/PM services
• Organized all equipment documentation and labeling to adhere to necessary compliances (FDA, ISO, CAP, etc.)

As a Controlled Pore Glass (CPG) Chemist, I have developed a wide skill set while working at the forefront of the Genomics Industry and the battle against COVID-19.

• Interim Manager coordinating and overseeing all team experiments and troubleshooting issues

• Managed all Device History Records, device parts, and receiving/inspection documents

I worked with R&D to take on a new project. I drafted designs and observed results to troubleshoot execution. The project involved research in chemical, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
