Summary

With over 30 years of experience delivering complex, highly customized luxury residences, I specialize in managing the full lifecycle of private estate development for high-net-worth clients. My work includes oversight of multi-year, large-scale residential builds involving custom architecture, specialized trades, and highly detailed design programs — often exceeding eight-figure budgets and significant square footage — while maintaining full confidentiality and discretion for the owners I serve.

I act as a trusted liaison between ownership, design professionals, consultants, and construction teams, ensuring that the vision is executed with precision while protecting the owner’s interests throughout every phase of the process. My approach balances disciplined project leadership with the flexibility, discretion, and personal attention these one-of-a-kind builds require.

Beyond technical execution, I bring a strong emphasis on financial stewardship, schedule oversight, and clear, proactive communication—aligning diverse teams and complex variables into a unified outcome that reflects the owner’s vision.

In addition to my project work, I’m passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of professionals in the high-end construction and private estate space. I believe that building great homes requires not only technical skill, but also wisdom, judgment, and the ability to navigate the deeply personal nature of private estate projects. Sharing these lessons with younger builders, project managers, and future owner representatives is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

Accomplishments

I love a challenge and have a passion for growing small businesses. On a 40,000-acre agricultural project, I led an initiative to improve revenue streams and reduce costs. I located opportunities for targeted investment, focusing on

avocado and lemon development and cultivation, I drove $17MM in annual growth. To help manage our growth and streamline business operations, I hired and trained a cross-functional team of 50+ direct reports. By directly

negotiating favorable terms for our land, water, and lease contracts, I was able to save more than $2MM in annual revenue, while successfully lowering expenses by 40% over a five-year period.

Whether projects are big or small, I deliver high-quality results at every scale, from multi-year land development to focused renovations. I

n 2013, I oversaw the buildout and renovation of Mattei’s Tavern in Los Olivos, a designated historical landmark. Project leadership required coordinating and

communicating between teams of experts, an advisory committee, and multiple community stakeholders. The $2MM buildout had a tight deadline of just 4 months, requiring comprehensive project management, strict timelines, and no

room for failure. Careful planning and close attention to details allowed us to finish the project within budget and before the deadline.

I approach each project with an eye towards excellence, efficiency and effective leadership, laying out a strategic plan for accomplishing tasks and managing daily operations to ensure high performance. I thrive when managing

complex projects, such as the development of an 120-acre estate consisting of vineyards, luxury custom homes and multiple residences build-outs valued at

over $30MM, or the development and buildout of a 10 acre luxury private estate in the mountains of Utah valued at over $70MM. Managing over 100's and subcontractors over a 30 year period, I've been able to deliver impeccable results within budgets, exceeding customer expectations.

Hobbies and Interests

I’m passionate about mentoring and helping people. I started my own mastermind group 2 years ago mostly for men in which we discuss self-improvement, career and lifestyle changes, along with business and investing ideas founded on sound money principles. I also have a substack page where I share many life lessons learned over the years through the lens of my construction stories and experiences in the field.  You can find my substack here:

I love most sports, the outdoors and I currently spend my free time flyfishing, golf, pickleball, and mountain biking as well as spending time with my wife and 2 adult children. When I need to mellow out and contemplate things, I play the piano, read, mediate and go for walks or hike. I love to learn new things and constantly listen to audio books and other educational videos daily. I think it’s important to serve and give back and participate by serving and volunteering in various community organizations.
