Daniel Gardiner

College Station,TX

Summary

Student at Texas A&M University studying Political Science and striving for an intended minor in Sociology. I find myself very passionate about helping and working with others. While several people do not enjoy working with others I tend to thrive on group work and group planning. With over 400 hours in community service and volunteer work and over 500 hours tutoring high schoolers I tend to surround myself with opportunities that allow me to use my strengths in helping others. Efficiency and planning are what I bring to the table. From developing curriculum for my students to organizing over 20 plus adults to participate in scheduled events I excel in time management and communication. I will always work my hardest to guarantee a task is completed in a good timeframe and make sure whether I am working by myself or with others that the task is done right.

Student Ambassador

I work for the Association of Former Students at Texas A&M University in College Station as a Student Ambassador.

  • Maintain university-alumni relationships by connecting former students with resources and benefits.
  • Additionally, I aid the non-profit organization Century Club, which provides scholarships for students by reaching out to generous alumni and offering them a chance to give back to the student body of A&M.
  • Cold calling former students, and sometimes having the privilege to meet with them in person, has enabled me to understand more about the necessity for important communication and presentation skills, as well as problem-solving. (Potential transaction errors or lost payments).

Speech and Debate Tutor

Self
Online, Freelance
07.2022 - Current

I participated in speech and debate, and I achieved a decent amount of national and state success. I decided to use what I learned from the activity to help high schoolers excel in the activity.

  • I have worked one-on-one with over 20 students, teaching them the basics of public speaking and argument construction.
  • In addition, to tutoring individual students, I have also been hired by several schools and districts to teach their entire debate programs more about the activity. Some of these programs have received national recognition for their success in the activity, including W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, and Jack C. Hays in Buda. On top of building success in already thriving programs, I was also hired by younger programs to help build up their speech teams. Those schools include PSJA Southwest in Pharr, Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca, and multiple schools in the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
