Daniel Grant

I write, edit and produce news stories for FarmWeek and FarmWeekNow.com. I've also served as the backup editor of FarmWeek off and on for 12 years, managing staff during those weeks, and contribute audio for use on the RFD Radio Network and occasionally shoot and produce video for our website. I've also served as the special sections editor for more than 10 years, organizing, composing and producing more than 50 special sections in FarmWeek. Another key part of my job involves putting news out, and drawing readers back to our website, through social media, mostly Twitter and Facebook. During my 18 years at FarmWeek I created a new Profitability Page for our publication, served on the IFB Farm Profitability Advisory Task Force and served on the United Way board. I travel extensively for the position and have been to 13 different countries for work.

I managed a small office in Bloomington where I wrote and edited news and features stories spanning across the entire agricultlure industry and worked extensively in photography. I also represented the publication and promoted subscription sales at numerous trade shows throughout the year.

I worked as the Sports Editor for the Olney daily newspaper where I wrote all the stories, shot photos to fill 2 sports pages per issue for 6 days per week. I also worked as the sports editor of the Newton Eagle, a weekly newspaper, as part of the position.

I worked mostly as a sports reporter, covering local events, college sports and a little bit of MLB and NFL coverage. I took some photos, covered some occasional news stories and also assisted with distribution of the paper.

I worked as a sportswriter covering local junior high, high school and college sporting events.
