I am a 12-time, award-winning journalist and supportive assistant editor with 32 years of experience. I've worked directly in agriculture communications the past 27 years. I also farm part-time on the side, with 100 acres of a corn/soybean rotation. I've also worked in 2 factories, 2 seed corn production plants (DeKalb in Monmouth, IL and Pioneer in Good Hope IL), as an IHSA basketball official for 3 years, coached junior high basketball at 3 different schools for 8 years and as a contract foreman for Garst Seed for a summer. I bring a positive attitude to the table and enjoy helping people.

I write, edit and produce news stories for FarmWeek and FarmWeekNow.com. I've also served as the backup editor of FarmWeek off and on for 12 years, managing staff during those weeks, and contribute audio for use on the RFD Radio Network and occasionally shoot and produce video for our website. I've also served as the special sections editor for more than 10 years, organizing, composing and producing more than 50 special sections in FarmWeek. Another key part of my job involves putting news out, and drawing readers back to our website, through social media, mostly Twitter and Facebook. During my 18 years at FarmWeek I created a new Profitability Page for our publication, served on the IFB Farm Profitability Advisory Task Force and served on the United Way board. I travel extensively for the position and have been to 13 different countries for work.
