  • Attend daily safety and work planning meeting before each shift
  • Assist track hoe operator in digging trench to sub-grade level and setting trench box
  • Compact and level pipe bed prior to installing the pipe
  • Use a pipe laser or rotating laser to set grade
  • Prepare pipe for installation by cleaning dirt and debris out of pipe section.
  • Wrap fittings in wax after cleaning them
  • Install and connect pipe in trench
  • Haunch pipe to ensure pipe does not have bellies or rise up out of grade.
  • Check the depth of the trench using a transit and grade rod doing the math to ensure pipe is deep enough and that the pipe is laying where it needs to be.
  • Back fill pipe with specified material such as concrete, sand, pea size gravel etc. While making sure the pipe stays at grade level, and that it is not damaged during back filling.
  • Cut pipe with a demo saw and fiber wheel wearing the appropriate PPE.
  • Use an engineer’s tape with feet and inches and tenths.
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Keep a clean job site

Composite Production Operator

  • Stage parts for the cure cycle in autoclave.
  • Extract and deburr parts for machining.
  • Use crane and forklift to load and unload cure racks from autoclave.
  • Experience with vacuum bagging in preparation of cure.
  • Map the parts on the sheet in the computer for recipe and work order.
  • Followed SOP to prevent Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
  • Sign off that product meets minimum criteria.
  • Place parts in vacuum bag, run diagnostics. Replace hoses, check bag for leaks when vacuum pressure is low.
  • Extract parts from mandrel or mold
  • Deburr or sand part edges to remove excess resin.
  • Stage part for machining by placing in the appropriate cart
  • Remove the residue from the sealing tape using a razor blade scraper and isopropyl alcohol to lift the glue in the sealing tape.
  • Prepare mandrels and molds for next use. Sand the outside of the mandrel with a compressed air disc sander with felt sanding pads. Wipe mandrel down twice with isopropyl alcohol and once with acetone to ensure that the mold surface is clean and ready to be waxed with Frekote.
  • Apply Frekote one layer per mold surface and wipe off excess and let dry before placing the caul back on the mandrel and taping in place with 2 strips of tape at the ends to hold it in place before placing the mandrel in storage.
  • Perform deep cleans on the mandrel, by sanding the entire surface of the mold to remove the buildup of resin and Frekote on the mold. Wipe it down with 2 passes of isopropyl alcohol and one pass of acetone. Apply the first coat of Frekote and wipe off the excess and wait fifteen minutes before applying next layer repeat two times to give an even coating if Frekote on the mandrel before storing it.
  • Using my badge number, sign off all operations I have completed are logged. This includes that parts were properly extracted, no damage or FOD was found in the part. That the cleaning of the mold or mandrel was done correctly and that the waxing and storage of the mandrel was done correctly while also logging what time each layer of Frekote went on the mold when prepping the mold for storage.
