  • Extensive yard period getting the boar ready to cross back to Australia.

  • Crossed to Noumea for charter operations.
  • Successfully returned to Sydney for handover before departure to Mediterranean.

  • I was hired on Kinta as a temporary Chief engineer to deliver her to the Fort Lauderdale boat show to take her to sale.
  • The vessels plan soon changed and were taken straight to charter in the Bahamas followed by numerous boss trips also in the Bahamas and around Florida.
  • In addition, I took the vessel through an Italian Port State Inspection, an Internal audit, Commercial Marshall Islands Flag state Inspection (Acquiring the vessel a 5-year licence to charter) followed by a U.S Port State Inspection.
  • Managing a 2nd and 3rd engineer also.
  • Implemented a Triton Planned Maintenance System as there was nothing onboard when I signed on.

  • 4 x 3512c Caterpillar Main Engines and 3 x Caterpillar 4.4 generators - Managing all warranty work and contractors.
  • Troubleshooting new build problems.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the technical installations on the ship function correctly and safely, including the functional testing of all safety installations at the prescribed intervals.
  • Maintain a detailed written log of all work, incidents and activities relevant to the Engineering Department.
  • Maintain a detailed computer inventory of all engineering related stores, and critical domestic system spare parts.
  • Supervision of the shipboard stores, fuel, lubricating oil and other necessary machinery supplies.
  • Coordination and execution of firefighting and damage control drills in cooperation with the First Officer.
  • Bunkering operations.
