My role as a Collision Repair Planner is both challenging and rewarding. The satisfaction of helping customers when they are involved in a collision is unmatched. This comes with a high expectation of excellent customer service to make sure customers know they are getting back into a safe vehicle that has been repaired to factory specifications. Working with collision technicians, painters, mechanics, and calibration specialists to construct accurate estimates shines a light on the difficulties this job can entail. Some of my duties included;

  • Coordinate repairs, working with customers and various insurance companies.
  • Schedule estimates with customers, identifying possibilities of pre-ordering parts if the vehicle is safe to drive.
  • Identify damages in depth to write accurate and thorough estimates while following insurance guidelines.
  • Answered customer inquiries regarding collision repair services and insurance processes from start to finish.
  • Oversee repairs throughout all phases to ensure safe, efficient repairs.

Some of the challenged faced were understaffing, new employees needing training, and changing systematic and physical processes. As a Material Handler my job duties included, excellent inventory accuracy and control at all times, cycle counting of essential client inventory, creating  sensitive and high value material orders to meet client demands. This also included upholding the strongest integrity and safety standards at an extremely high level.   Communication with clients is incredibly important to ensure timely shipping and delivery of all material requests. This also involved completing and ensuring accurate reverse logistics orders of client materials to maintain accurate inventories for both the client and the warehouses. Adapting to ever changing procedures and voicing safety concerns with those policies is crucial in this position due to working with and around many different contractors and construction projects.
