My role as a Collision Repair Planner is both challenging and rewarding. The satisfaction of helping customers when they are involved in a collision is unmatched. This comes with a high expectation of excellent customer service to make sure customers know they are getting back into a safe vehicle that has been repaired to factory specifications. Working with collision technicians, painters, mechanics, and calibration specialists to construct accurate estimates shines a light on the difficulties this job can entail. In this position, I was given responsibility of a much bigger team across multiple locations in Pryor. Some of the challenged faced were understaffing, new employees needing training, and changing systematic and physical processes. With these challenges in front of me, I have been able to successfully develop a team of self sufficient employees willing and able to take on day to day tasks effectively. We have been able to set and meet some operational and personal goals for the team and individuals. Most of my job duties from my previous position stayed the same but on a larger scale. Below are some examples of areas I have been able to improve myself while in this position.
As an Operations Supervisor, I was challenged with leading a a Team of full time and temporary employees and overseeing their operations. This came with many challenges which I have been successful in leading the team to overcome and set new goals and challenges. Many of the tasks and duties I was given as Material Handler Lead, I still faced as an Operations Supervisor. I was able to apply the knowledge gained from my previous years of experience in Hourly and Salaried positions. Some additions of duties in this roll included task delegation, report building and organization of information, team building, coaching and motivating and overseeing all operations in my assigned building for multiple operations.
As a Material Handler Lead, I was tasked with leading a small team of employees through their duties as well. This included many things that I had already grown to perfect. With this position, my duties included scheduling vital material movement throughout the day, coordination with security personnel to complete these movements within highly secure areas. Maintaining team integrity and moral as well as coordination of team members with high priority assignments. Record keeping of material compliance and addressing as needed, coordination with clients for completion of high priority job tasks and material movements. Ensuring team members have the tools they need and are available to complete their tasks safely and effectively.
