Test and calibrate over 8,000 pieces of medical equipment in accordance with manufacturers' technical support and literature.
Keep records of maintenance, repair, and required updates on all pieces of medical equipment assigned.
Plan and carry out around 100 different work assignments, using blueprints, schematic drawings, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, or liquid or air flow sheets, following prescribed regulations, directives, or other instructions as required.
Repair over 30 different shop equipment, metal furniture, or hospital equipment, including welding broken parts or replacing missing parts, or bring item into local shop for major repairs.
Conducted installation of new biomedical devices and systems.
Inspect and test malfunctioning medical or related equipment, following manufacturers' specifications and using test and analysis instruments.
Disassemble malfunctioning equipment and remove, repair, or replace defective parts.
Study technical manuals or attend training sessions provided by equipment manufacturers to maintain current knowledge.
Solder loose connections, using a soldering iron.
Evaluate technical specifications to identify equipment or systems best suited for intended use and possible purchase, based on specifications, user needs, or technical requirements.
Coordinated with vendors for repair services when necessary.
Updated software applications used by biomedical devices to ensure optimal performance.
Monitored inventory levels of spare parts and consumables used in repairs and replacements.
Trained hospital personnel in the use, troubleshooting, and maintenance of biomedical devices.
Demonstrated correct operation and preventive maintenance of medical equipment to personnel.
