• Maintain and perform scheduled lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, fertilizing, and reseeding of lawn areas.
• Prunes, hedges, shrubs, and trees; cuts flowers; ensures the application of fertilizer, pesticides, plant treatments, and other methods to maintain healthy plants.
• Cut and prune trees to remove excess and control excess or diseased wood.
• Lead all aspects related to the process of native plant propagation. Water lawns, shrubs, and ground cover using appropriate manual or automatic systems.
• Maintain irrigation systems in efficient working order, including but not limited to irrigation repairs and adjustments, and occasional irrigation valve repairs and maintenance.
• Responsible for all aspects of day-to-day compost-related operations.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including but not limited to mowers, edgers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaw, shovels, brooms, and wheelbarrows.
• Operate a variety of vehicles, including, but not limited to, small tractors, riding mowers, and small utility vehicles. Recognize, report, and remove rodents, pests, and diseases that may be harmful to plant and lawn areas.
• Maintain landscape-related tools and vehicles in a safe and working condition.
• Load, unload, move, and carry landscape maintenance supplies and equipment. Perform daily trash and debris pick-up from landscaped area.
• Assist the property department and other departments, as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned to assist in the fulfillment of the council's mission and goals.

Functions may include, but are not limited to, the following: monitor assigned areas for overall public safety; identify hazards to patrons; observe patrons to ensure compliance with park safety rules and regulations; issue parking citations; provide direct assistance to park patrons; for deposit reimbursement, posting of reserved parks and shelters; direct patrons to picnic areas and other park locations; direct traffic to available parking lots; patrol and lock down park areas after hours; administer first aid; assist with emergency situations where indicated; update daily activity logbook and write incident reports; perform routine maintenance and repair of park facilities; clean and maintain park shelters, restrooms, fields, and picnic grounds; collect rubbish and empty trash receptacles; ensure that facilities are appropriately supplied; build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees, and the public using principles of good customer service; perform related duties as assigned.

• Responsible for grounds maintenance of the areas by maintaining turf and landscaping of company grounds.
• Mows grass, applies fertilizer, applies chemicals for weed and pest control, installs and maintains sprinkler systems, plants and cares for landscaping and turf, and adjusts and makes minor repairs on all maintenance equipment.
• Read work orders or receive instructions from Facilities Manager or Supervisor.
• Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, Forklift vehicles, blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
• Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming, or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls. -Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
• Sharpen tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
• Make minor repairs on equipment, such as lawn mower and spreaders.
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using shears, pruners, or chainsaws.
• Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Water lawn and shrubs.
• Ensures that assigned work area is maintained in a safe condition.
• Must be able to work on-call and overtime when necessary.
• Must be available to work all shifts as needed. Additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or Supervisor.

• Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility.
• Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees, and other areas.
• Waters tees, greens, and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water.
• Repairs the irrigation system, pipes, and irrigation heads as necessary.
• Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod, and seeds greens, tees, and fairways.
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery, cleans flower beds.
• Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course.
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

• Use walking and riding greens mower, tee mower, fairway mower, rough mower, roller, bunker rake, carts, push mowers, and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools to maintain golf course grounds and landscaping.
• Clean and maintain equipment that is used.
• Treat all equipment with care and respect.
• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Mow greens, tees, fairways, and rough.
• Rake bunkers.
• Weed eat and push mow bunker faces.
• Set cups and move tee markers.
• Hand-water greens and tees.
• Help with irrigation repairs.
• Perform light custodial operations on golf course grounds and buildings, i.e., cleaning and stocking restrooms, sweeping stones from paths, trash collection, mopping floors, etc.
• Use mops and brooms. Report problems encountered on site to supervisor immediately. Take appropriate steps to address emergency situations.
• Paint and maintain buildings. Perform light carpentry work, as needed.
• Plant flowers, shrubs, trees, landscaping, and sod. Mulch and edge beds. Prepare beds for planning of materials.
• Pull weeds. Use a hose to water plantings.
• Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager. Assist in other departments as needed.
• Attend monthly departmental meetings.
