Accomplishments

Team leader for RRT8 for 10 years. Deployed to many local, state, and national disasters. Including floods, Hurricanes, tornados, and wild fires.

In which I led team members to accomplish rescue goals in a safe and timely manner.

Task force Commander for 3 deployments for RRT8. Deployed as overall task force commander for aid in disaster search and rescue and community outreach.

Received Fire Chief's award at graduation from fire training academy.


While attending the Louisiana Youth Challenge Program Family day . An incident occurred involving 2 service members and a participant of LYCP. In which they were struck by a truck while riding in a golf cart. Using training as an EMT and USN Corpsman . I stabilized 2 of the patients and communicated with in route medical services to help facilitate their treatment and transport to higher care. All involved in the incident had a successful outcome.

Awarded the Meritorious civilian service medal by the Louisiana National Guard.


Monroe Fire was called to respond to a man injured and trapped inside a water tower 180 ft up off the ground. The crew of Rescue 2 and others responded due to training in high angle rescue. Myself and 2 others made the climb, rappelled to the victim, and built rope systems to help extricate him from the tower. The victim was injured and hypothermic after a fall into water and outside temperatures at 23 degrees  . After warming the victim was warmed up. He was attached to safety ropes and assisted to the ground . He made a full recovery after been seen at the hospital.
