Patrol Officer and Sergeant

  • Successfully handle high risk and liability incidents, and independently manage day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Serve on the DuPage Public Safety Communications consolidated dispatch center Police Sub-Operations committee to enhance communication between the dispatchers and officers.
  • Serve on the DuPage Public Safety Communications consolidated dispatch center Support Services Committee collaborating countywide with police and fire services on technology services.
  • Serve as a member of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS). Design workflows and train officers use of tools to detect, mitigate and decontaminate weapons of mass destruction.
  • Act as Village of Lisle's Emergency Manager conducting exercises where governmental and non-governmental agencies come together to build a better operating picture and conduct annual reviews of the Village's Emergency Operations Plan.
  • Served as the Class President for the 488th Staff and Command class through Northwestern University.
  • Revised and implemented best practice policies and procedures, to include risk management principles, focusing on four core areas, administration, operations, personnel and training. Through this process, the department became one of the five percent of Illinois Law Enforcement Agencies that are accredited through the Illinois Chiefs of Police.
  • Spear-headed business practice analysis for thirty-five law enforcement agencies, three public safety answering points and the vendor to configure the countywide dispatch and records management system implemented in DuPage County which provided better workflows which brought better service to the public and improved safety for all users.
  • Worked with officers, information technology consultant and civilians employees to create an IT group of super users to assist in documenting problems and creating solutions.
  • Worked with Department Administration and Village purchasing agent to complete the purchase, training, installation, and deployment of several interactions of in car technology.
  • Worked with the Village's Procurement Services Manager creating an invitation to bid for an emergency vehicle equipment and installation contract which led to a shortened readiness timeline from the manufacturer.
  • Served as Union President for the Metropolitan Alliance of Police #87, where I led the Union to negotiate the first contract without using attorneys, which created significant cost savings for both the Village and the Union, fostering a better working relationship between parties.
  • Led community engagement events to foster trust between law enforcement and local residents.
