Additional Information
I attended a biomedical program during HS freshman year with a final grade of an A.
Completed the Health Science Foundations program, sophomore-senior year. This program allows students to receive certifications every year, go on field trips to different hospitals for different events, talk to multiple health professionals, and get minor practice, for example, taking blood pressure, moving patients from wheelchairs to their beds, and vice versa. As seniors, we get the opportunity to leave school mid-day and go to Advent Health Hospital for in-person practice and experiences.
Competitive gymnastics from 2011–2019, competing in state championships, and regional.
Volunteer for the Red Cross (Hurricane Preparedness) by setting up care packages and supply boxes in 2017.
Volunteer to Feed the Homeless at the Christian Service Center shelter, serving plates of food and giving them out to those in need in 2018–2019.
Tutoring ESOL elementary students as volunteers for Latinos in Action, helping the majority in reading and/or math 2022–present.
I attended Mini-Medical University at UCF Lake Nona Hospital on March 4, 2023. I was 1 of 30 students and 1 of 4 students from Cypress Creek attending the activity. We received a hospital tour, each floor's description and function, viewed the new technology and its functions, and were taught CPR.
I volunteered at Advent Health Hospital on the pre-op and nursing floors for 6 months. As a volunteer, I would restock carts in patient rooms, clean and set up rooms for every new patient, and file and organize patient paperwork.
