  • Ensure the safety and security of inmates housed in the Arapahoe County Justice Center.
  • My duties include: directly supervising inmates awaiting sentencing, book recently arrested suspects into the facility, fingerprint new inmates, inventory inmate property, take mugshots of inmates, conduct pat searches, conduct cell searches, utilize the use of force continuum to control dangerous inmates and diffuse hazardous situations and write detailed criminal and informational reports.
  • As a Deputy, I have had the privilege to manage inmates in multiple areas such as Booking, multiple Pods, MC/BC and RISE. Working in these areas has taught me how to handle intense and challenging situations by thinking outside of the box to maintain control and order while supervising mentally unstable, physically combative and medically dependent inmates.
  • Currently I am assigned to work as a deputy in the Colorado Department of Human Services sponsored RISE program. 
  • As a RISE Deputy it is my duty to ensure that patients are managed in such a way that the safety of civilian staff and the security of the Detention Facility are never compromised. I complete these duties through proper implementation of CIT skills, patience, diligence and professionalism.

  • I was hired onto a newly formed security organization named United States Protective Services.
  • I started the first of January as an on site officer.
  • My responsibilities included monitoring contracted company assets such as construction sights and apartment buildings.
  • In March I was promoted to the position of Armed Patrol Officer.
  • As a Patrol Officer my responsibilities included driving a company vehicle to contracted locations, securing doors, conduct foot patrols, assessing potential threats to tenants, employees and property, writing parking citations, responding, within 15 minutes to dispatch calls, writing official reports and ultimately deterring or engaging threats before local law enforcement arrived.
  • As of the month of April I was promoted to Sergeant and given additional responsibilities.
  • These responsibilities included but weren't limited to training employees, fulfilling the position of an on-call officer, managing a dispatch phone and conducting weekly scheduling.
  • Since my promotion I trained four new employees and managed 10.
  • During my employment with US Protective I learned how important it is to lead with integrity and honesty, to develop good habits and to effectively manage a team of security officersscheduling.

  • In January 2012 I was called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints.
  • I attended a language program in Utah and then traveled to Romania for where I served for the remainder of my two-year assignment.
  • With the help of a senior companion, I gradually learned to converse fluently in Romanian.
  • I learned such things as effective teaching, time management, problem solving, cultural awareness, respect for others, and methods of improving interpersonal relationships.
  • I especially learned how to work long hours in all types of weather and under challenging conditions.
  • Every six weeks I was assigned another partner and moved cities.
  • As a missionary my responsibilities included proselyting, presenting workshops, planning and executing team building activities, conducting religious seminars and teaching English regardless of rain or shine.
  • These activities were tailored for groups ranging from 4 individuals to 60.
  • During my mission I was required to dress and behave as one befitting the sacred nature of my calling, conduct myself in a manner fitting to specific regulations and fulfill my missionary obligations from 11AM-9PM.
  • Over my two years I developed high levels of patience, personal accountability, integrity, honesty, determination and teamwork.
