Registered nurse in 40 bedded burn unit, caring for mixed acuity adult and pediatric patients ranging from severe burn injuries to medical conditions requiring complex wound care. Utilized critical thinking skills to manage and care for these patients with skills including, but not limited to, administering and titrating life saving drugs, caring for ventilated patients, and initiating and maintaining dialysis machines. Registered nurse in robust burn outpatient clinic seeing an average of 4,000 pediatric and adult burn patients per year. Working closely with physician team to provide expert wound care and education to the outpatient population. Responsibilities include wound debridement and wound care as well as education and scar management. Administrative roles of managing appointments, returning calls of patients and ordering supplies and medications needed for clinic.

Helped to manage over 70 staff members employed in a variety of roles. Served as clinical resource to night nursing staff. Helped to resolve patient and/or family complaints or concerns in a prompt and professional manner. Supported staff during emergency situations. Provided inservices and education to experienced and novice nurses. Oversaw and managed payroll and scheduling for all staff members. Supported the development of new initiatives aimed at enhancing patient satisfaction.
